What time is check-in and departure?
Check in is from 4.00 pm on your arrival day with check out strictly at 10.00 am on your departure day. We are sorry if this does seem a little early but this allows us to ensure that the cottage is in an immaculate state for all our guests arrival.
What house rules are there?
For the benefit of our neighbours and all guests we would ask visitors to adhere to our house rules:
- Strictly no smoking within the house, guests may smoke in the garden
- Only children 6 years and older may use the upper bunk bed
- We welcome dogs but ask that they remain downstairs and are not left unsupervised in the cottage
- Hen or stag groups or parties are not permitted
- Our quiet hours are between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am - so please keep noise to a minimum during this time
- No candles, incense or similar are permitted for safety reasons
Can you accommodate people with limited mobility?
We welcome all guests but as the cottage is over 100 years old it does have a steep staircase which may be difficult for those with limited mobility. Please note there are also two steps to enter the cottage.
What facilities are available in the cottage?
We have prioritised the comfort of all our guests and have aimed to provide everything you'll need to have an enjoyable stay at Sea Glimpses. Please have a look at our Amenities tab where you'll find a comprehensive list of what is available to you during your stay. If you have any further questions, please do get in touch via email seaglimpsesbroadstairs@gmail.com.
Are dogs welcome at Sea Glimpses?
As dog owners, we welcome them to our cottage but, in consideration of all our guests, we have to have some house rules. We ask that you ensure your dog remains downstairs, is kept off furniture, not left alone in the house and that any 'parcels' are removed on your departure. We provide dog bowls, blankets for their comfort and a dog bed for your use (medium sized).
How dog friendly is Broadstairs?
Broadstairs is very dog friendly and dogs love the sandy beaches and beach walks, often finding furry friends to frolic with! In the winter (a lovely time for a dog beach walk) dogs are permitted on all the beaches. During the summer months, 1 May to 30 September there are restrictions on some beaches. Viking Bay is off limits at all times during the summer but our nearest beaches, Louisa Bay and Dumpton Gap, allow dogs all day. Many cafes, ice cream parlours, pubs and some shops are very welcoming to dogs. Please take a look at our info for dog owners under our Explore tab.
What about cancellations?
If you need to cancel your booking, we ask you to please notify us immediately. If we are able to re-let the house for your booking period at the price you have paid, only the non-refundable deposit will be retained. In the event that we can only re-let the property by offering a reduced price, we will refund the amount we have received from the new booking. Otherwise a refund will not be possible. If we need to cancel so that house is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control eg storm damage, Covid-19, we will notify you of the problem as soon as we can and a full refund will be made. We cannot accept responsibility for any further claims. We advise you to take out holiday cancellation insurance.
What if my holiday is affected by the government's Covid-19 pandemic restrictions?
Unfortunately, this pandemic has caused major disruption to many areas of life and has led the government to force holiday establishments to close for business. If this occurs when you are due to have your holiday at Sea Glimpses we will fully refund all monies you have paid.
What are you doing to prevent Covid-19 transmission between guests?
We have conducted thorough research into the best method of ensuring that Covid-19 is not transmitted to our guests. We have incorporated a rigorous deep cleaning process which will be followed by an intensive sanitisation process using a non-toxic biocide product that is approved to kill 99.9999% of viruses. We will also be adding a hand sanitiser dispenser by the door for use as you enter the house. Further measures may be necessary to ensure guests safety and we will keep abreast of developments.
